Back in the day when the Neo-Geo hardware was designed, there were not a whole
lot of options for how game consoles were hooked up to standard TV sets. So,
when the engineers at SNK designed the Neo for home use, they only included the
very basic connections needed for video and audio. This may have been fine in
the past, when we all had crappy 13" TV sets, but with today's technology,
gamers demand the very best they can get out of their gaming consoles. With
this demand, system mods were born.
System mods allow a gamer to keep their favorite gaming consoles up-to-date
with the latest trends and technologies. On the Neo, this can range from
something as simple as adding a power indicator (LED), or as elaborate as
Component Video.
This is where the Neobitz Video Board enters the scene. This new video
solution takes the RGB signals (what arcade monitors use) and converts them
into signals used by the latest and greatest TV sets. You can now take
advantage of the excellent video capabilities that your TV has to offer by
feeding your TV a superior video signal.
The Neobitz Video Board offers a variety of video connections for
maximum compatibility with the TVs available today:
 |
Component Video |
- The best analog connection available for TV sets here in the US.
- Component Video offers amazing color definition, comparable to true arcade
monitors.
- Video is transmitted over three cables for excellent picture quality.
|
|
 |
S-Video |
- Provides a very good picture for TVs that don't support Component Video.
- S-Video transmits the video signal over two wires for better picture quality.
|
|
 |
Composite Video |
- General All-Purpose connection. At a minimum, most TVs have a composite
connection.
- Video is transmitted over a single wire.
- Composite video is commonly designated as the yellow plug on a set of A/V
cables.
|
NOTE: The Neobitz board does not process audio signals.
